Laitila App is an unofficial application and does not represent the City of Laitila, the Finnish government, or any other public authority.
The app
Laitila App is an unofficial local guide for Laitila, Finland. Normal use requires no account or login.
Voluntary submissions
When a user sends feedback, a correction, a place or event suggestion, or a bug report, the form content, an optional email address, and a related place or event identifier may be stored in Supabase for admin review.
Bug reports attach limited technical context: screen, app name and version, build profile, runtime version, platform, approximate device model, Supabase configuration status, backend source, and timestamp. They do not attach location, an advertising identifier, or a push token.
Submission security
When a form is submitted, the server uses the request IP only in memory to create a keyed pseudonymous hash. Laitila App does not store the raw IP address. The keyed network hash, a keyed normalized-content hash, and timestamps may be stored for up to 48 hours solely to limit repeated submissions and prevent spam and abuse. They are not used for analytics, advertising, or profiling.
Data stored on the device
Saved places, language choice, onboarding state, local event reminders, and cached public app content stay on the device. Saved places and reminders are not synced to Supabase. Local data can be removed in app settings where available, by clearing app data, or by uninstalling the app.
Location, maps, and directions
The app does not request location permission, collect the user's GPS location, or track location in the background. The map opens around published Laitila places. A directions button opens an external Google Maps route with destination address or coordinates only; the app does not add an origin.
Notifications
Event reminders are scheduled locally on the device when requested. Notification permission is requested only when setting a reminder. The app does not register or store Expo push tokens or server-side push subscriptions.
Providers and external links
Supabase processes published app content and voluntary submissions. Google Maps displays the Android map and processes directions opened by the user. Google Places data may be imported by administrators into the app database, but the mobile app does not make Google Places searches on user page loads. Google Play and websites, phone links, or other external services opened by the user operate under their own terms and privacy practices.
Analytics, advertising, and sale
The app has no analytics, advertising, or separate crash-reporting system. Personal data is not sold. This static legal page uses no tracking, backend, or cookies.
Retention, correction, and deletion
The app code sets no automatic deletion period for submissions sent to Supabase. Submissions remain in the admin system until an administrator deletes them. Request access, correction, or deletion of submitted personal information at laitilaapp@gmail.com. Information that identifies the submission may be needed to process the request.
